The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Saipan Post 3457, will be hosting a series of fund raising events to support our community programs. We thank the businesses and individuals who have already given or pledged their support. We still need more help in the form of cash donations, gift certificates and items to raffle and auction. Your donation will help with our many projects through June 2006.

Our first fundraiser will be a raffle/auction to be held on Friday, March 17, 2006 starting at 7pm, at the Post Home on Beach Road. The proceeds will help with projects including homecoming celebration for returning Iraq and Afghanistan veterans; eyeglasses for children of the CNMI who cannot afford them; youth development programs; Americanism; and community service.

On March 19, 2006, from 3pm to 5pm, Post 3457 will host a Veterans Appreciation Day for members of our adopted unit, Echo Company, and other CNMI veterans who served in wartime or hostile duty. Food and drink will be served. This is a “veterans only” gathering and the VFW Post Canteen will be closed to the public during those hours. We are holding this event close to Covenant Day. This is traditionally the time that we recognize the CNMI Covenant with the United States of America. It is also a time for us to recognize our covenant with our veterans. We recognize and appreciate the sacrifices made by this new generation of men and women who have served to defend the institutions of American freedom.
