CNMI photos displayed at Shanghai exhibition

A group of Chinese photographers from the Chinese Overseas Photographers Society from Mainland China visited the Marianas from Nov.r 28 to Dec. 3, 2005.

There were 150 participants who took photos of Saipan and Tinian to compete in the “Royal Cup – CNMI Photography Contest,” which was organized by Tinian Dynasty Holidays and the Chinese Overseas Photographers Society.

The winning photos of the Royal Cup Photo Contest are now displayed at the photo exhibition at the Shanghai CITIC Square located in downtown Shanghai, China.

The exhibition will last for 10 days from March 3 to 12, 2006.

Those who attended the March 3 photo show included Zhu Xiao Ming, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress; Li Qun Ce, Liaison Office vice-director of United Front Work Department Shanghai Committee of Chinese Communist Party; and Ying Li Zheng, deputy general manager of CITIC Square.

“The Chinese Overseas Photographers Society will provide the Marianas Visitors Authority with the winning photos for future promotional use. We hope it will increase our presence in the China market,” said Tess Castro, MVA acting managing director. (PR)
