On March 10, 2006, the Saipan Southern High School’s Manta Ray Battalion donated goods to a needy family.

Two children of that family attend SSHS’s sister school: Koblerville Elementary School. When the principal of KES, Eric Evangelista, heard about the contribution, he said he is happy with the Manta Ray Battalion’s generous help.

Just last week, the leaders of the Manta Ray Battalion JROTC heard about a family around the school district that was in dire need of help. The MRB all decided to lend a helping hand. The cadets put together a box of canned goods, personal hygiene items like paper towels, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, paper plates and plastic spoons, to name a few.

“The Manta Ray Battalion is always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone anytime. We wish that family luck and God bless,” a statement from the group said. (PR)
