The Northern Marianas College has received a truckload of new computers this week, giving traction to its goal of providing a more high-tech and advanced learning environment at the community college

More than 20 desktop computers and notebooks were delivered to NMC.

According to NMC president Tony V. Deleon Guerrero the computers were purchased for a new student lab through the Title III Grant- Strengthening Institutions.

Starting next fall, he said, students would have access to two student laboratories on campus from 7:30am until 8:30pm, Monday through Friday, and 7:30am to 12 noon on Saturdays.

“Some of these computers will be sent to Tinian and Rota for student’s use,” he said.

Through the Title III funds, Information and Learning Technology has also purchased faculty laptops, projectors for all classrooms as well as a new faculty and student e-mail system, said Deleon Guerrero.

He said more Title III projects are being planned throughout the coming year that will help further strengthen the institution. (Marconi Calindas)
