It’s not all closure and departure of businesses, after all.

An internationally popular apparel and accessories shop, Guess, decided to open a branch on Saipan this week.

The outlet is operated by businessman Kishore Hemlani, the authorized local dealer of Levi’s and Famous Shoes.

Guess Saipan general manager Vikas Lalwani said the store would have its grand opening tomorrow, offering customers 25 percent discounts on all products.

“It’s a very popular brand. People love Guess products so we are bringing it here,” said Lalwani.

He said the local store carries the entire line of Guess products—from jeans and other trendy apparels, to bags, watches, and other accessories.

“We carry the whole line of products. You can find it all here,” said Lalwani.

This development, he said, is an indication of the business owner’s confidence in the local economy.

“We believe in this economy. It’s down right now, but we believe that it will revive,” he said.

The local business owner also owns a Guess shop and six other outlets in Guam, selling top brands such as Adidas and Skechers.

On Saipan, the business group used to own Romi’s in Chalan Kanoa. It was closed last month.

Guess occupies the half portion of the Famous Shoes building, which is located along Beach Road in downtown Garapan.

Meantime, the store’s 25 percent discount promo is effective from Thursday to Sunday this week.
