The Raraina Restaurant of the Aqua Resort Club was awash in all shades of red last Saturday, March 25, when it hosted a special event called “An Evening in Red.”

Crimson-clad guests flitted from table to table, enjoying glasses of Wente wine and the certified Angus beef especially prepared for the occasion by Aqua Resort’s executive chef, Hubert Friedle. The evening was further livened up by the Hawaiian jazz ensemble of Ezra Johnson and the Nekkid Boys, who serenaded guests with an eclectic combination of mainstream jazz pieces and a dollop of acid and experimental jazz grooves.

Dorry Gabutero, Aqua Resort’s sales and marketing manager, said that Marpac came up with the idea to promote its Wente wines. “Since the wine is red, we chose to focus on this color and adopt it as our theme to make the event more attractive, complete with a red carpet,” she said.

Gabutero said that Triple J, Five-Star Wholesale, Marpac, and Aqua Resort Club plan to make this a regular quarterly event.
