A man forced a picture of his girlfriend inside the mouth of his jealous wife, then beat her up at their house in Garapan, according to court papers.

Juhani D. Daproza, 22, was arrested Thursday morning in Chinatown for assault, and assault and battery. A $2,000 cash bail was initially imposed for his temporary release.

Daproza was set to appear before Superior Court Associate Judge David Wiseman for a bail hearing yesterday afternoon.

Detective Andrea Ozawa stated in her report that the wife suffered a swollen face and bruises to the right forearm and neck.

Ozawa said preliminary investigation showed that on Thursday morning the wife had found a picture of Daproza’s girlfriend at their house. She crumpled it, causing Daproza to get mad. He tried to cram the picture in his wife’s mouth. She, however, grabbed and tore it. This further upset the defendant, who allegedly beat her up. He also allegedly hit her in the back with a plastic chair. He then grabbed her neck and strangled her, according to court documents.

The detective said the victim claimed she almost lost consciousness.

When she told Daproza she would call police, the defendant allegedly threatened to kill her.

The victim later asked help from her co-worker, who brought her to the police station. Police picked up Daproza at the residence of his brother.
