The Great Warming, an environmental documentary narrated by Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves and Grammy Award winning singer Alanis Morissette, will be screened for free at the American Memorial Park Visitor Center for three days.

Division of Environmental Quality public information officer Reina Camacho said the free film showing at the museum’s auditorium will be on April 6-8.

“Everyday, our beautiful beaches are affected by higher tides and waves. The rising waters could cut into the land, carrying the erosion onto the surrounding reefs where coral and other sea life would be smothered and killed. Rising waters could also diminish the availability of natural fresh water and increase the salt and mineral content of the soil,” said Camacho.

The documentary, said Camacho, would educate the public about the effects of global warming due to climate changes and how it could impact the islands of the CNMI “and the world we live in.”

Admission is free and open to all audiences. The film schedule is as follows: Thursday, April 6, 6:30pm to 8:30pm; Friday, April 7, at 9:30am to 11:30am, 2pm to 4pm, and 6:30pm to 8:30pm; Saturday, April 8, at 9:30am-11:30am, 2pm to 4pm, and 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

Camacho is encouraging film lover to come early because seats are very limited. This film was developed for Discovery Canada.
