Man nabbed for robbery on Tinian
Police arrested on Friday a man who allegedly hit two tourists with a metal object during a robbery at the Blow Hole site on Tinian.
Li Song Hua was detained for assault and battery, aggravated assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, robbery, and disturbing the peace.
A $100,000 cash bail was initially imposed for Hua’s temporary liberty.
Police Officer 2 Christopher S. Pascua stated in court papers that Hua had robbed a tourist couple of their backpack containing money and other items on March 24, 2006. The victims were injured on the head, police said.
Pascua said the scooter that the defendant had rented and used as his get-away vehicle led to the solution of the case.

Man caught for alleged orchid theft
Police arrested on Friday a man who allegedly stole from a Tanapag residence seven to eight orchids worth $400.
Sean Serrano was charged with theft. A $250 cash bail was imposed for his temporary liberty.
The owner said the orchids, worth $50 each, were imported from Hawaii.
Police said Serrano admitted stealing the orchids last month and selling them to another Tanapag resident for $50.
