Early bird ending for Club Elan 5K
Today is the final day for runners to take advantage of the early bird savings for the Club Elan at the Hyatt 5km fun runs this weekend, and with only hours remaining before the cost jumps to the next level, Spa manager Vicky Benavente is taking advantage of her new position to invite everyone down to enjoy the daylong salute to healthy living.
For the sixth year in a row Hyatt is opening the doors to Club Elan to welcome children and adults to lace up the sneakers for a pair of races at the American Memorial Park tomorrow, April 29, and just like years past there will be great prizes, great people and great fun.
The children will get the morning started with the Kids Fun Runs, as the youngest runners of the 8-and-Under division will compete in the 1-km race, while athletes ages 12-and-under will stretch their legs in the 2-km race.
The final registration for the children’s races begins at 8:30am, with the runs getting underway at 9am.
The final registration for the Club Elan 5km Fun Run will get underway at 3:15pm at the Micro Beach pavilion before the adults take off on the course at 4pm.
Once again there will be a variety of prizes for the top finishers of the age group divisions to include massages from Club Elan, PTI phone cards, and DFS cash coupons, and the fastest finishers from the Open Division stand to gain a complimentary room night at the Hyatt Regency Saipan, a 90-minute body massage, and a brunch for two at one of the Hyatt’s eateries.
Last year Chris Fryling and Noriko Jim were the most fleet afoot as the duo was the first to finish in the Men’s and Women’s Open divisions, respectively. Fryling completed the course in 19:38 to take the men’s crown, while Jim raced around the park, through the marina, and across the finish line in 20:57 to outrun all of the women.
The cost for the children is $10, and registration for the event may be completed at Club Elan, with the cost of $12 for Club Elan Members who sign up this afternoon by 5pm, and $15 for and non-members.
For those waiting until tomorrow, the cost will jump to $15 for Club Elan members and $20 for non-members.
All participants will receive a race T-shirt, the full usage of Club Elan for the day and after the event, to include the main pool, locker rooms, spa area, towels, etc, and a post-race banquet at the Hyatt Poolside at 6:30pm.
