NMA to hold awards ceremony today
Due to time constraints, Northern Marianas Athletics was not able to present all medals and trophies during Saturday’s 2006 McDonald’s All Schools Track and Field Championships at the Oleai Sports Complex.
With that, NMA announced yesterday that it will host an awards ceremony today at 4pm at the track and field facility, and will present all winners with their medals and team trophies.
“Athletes that were not able to receive their medals are encouraged to attend this ceremony as they will be receiving their medals and also team trophies will be presented to the schools with most points,” NMA secretary general Robin Sapong said in a statement.
Over 1,200 entries and about 500 athletes competed in the event, which began at 8am and concluded well after sunset.
“Congratulations to all the coaches and most importantly to all the athletes who have committed their time and efforts to the success of this prestigious event. It is NMA’s goal to bring together these talented athletes both from public and private schools to educate and promote a healthy lifestyle in our community and especially in the development of our youths,” Sapong said.
