May 22: Promotion Practice begins
May 24: Promotion 4:00 pm @ HJHS
June 2: Last day of school.
June 3: StuCo Summer Bash, sponsored by StuCo. From 5pm to 9pm at HJHS. $15 for singles. Price includes barbecue dinner, one drink, and admission fee. Also, chances to win prizes and giveaways. Limbo contests, coconut husking competition. Limited to HJHS students and incoming 7th graders. Incoming 7th graders must purchase their tickets in advance to be placed on the list. Admission strictly enforced. Call 237-3480 for reservations or more information. This event is limited to the first 300 students. Feeder school staff and parents may call to volunteer to help chaperone this event.
Announcements:
1. Any 8th grader guilty of behavior that is considered a suspendable offense will not participate in the promotion ceremony. No exceptions
2. In an effort to coax all 8th grade students to attend school after their Promotion Ceremony, the actual Promotion certificates will be distributed Friday, June 2nd, along with the report cards.
3. Friday, June 2nd is a half-day of school. Lunch will be served from 11:30 to 12:30 and students will be dismissed at 12:30pm.
Promotion Updates:
– Promotion is Wednesday, May 24, at 4pm at HJHS
– Students must be on campus and lined up by 3:30pm
– Promotion Attire is island wear. No jeans. The dress code will be strictly enforced.
– Saipan Photo lab will be set up in M-1 earlier for photos before and after the ceremony
– Floral vendors will be on campus to sell the day of Promotion, but for best selection and guaranteed products, call First Floral or Leis on Arrival before Promotion Day.
– 8th graders are encouraged to stay home the morning of Promotion to prepare for the ceremony
– 7th graders have regular school on Wednesday, May 24.
– Students lacking credit, who have discipline problems warranting suspension, or who owe library and/or book fees will not walk at promotion.
– Students who owe library or book fees will not receive promotion certificates or transcripts until their debts are cleared with the school. (PR)
