The Attorney General’s Office filed criminal charges yesterday against a notorious ex-convict for allegedly stealing some items at a building in Koblerville owned by the Commonwealth Development Authority.

Albert Patrick Kaipat, 28, was charged with theft and criminal mischief.

Chief Prosecutor Jeffery Warfield Sr. said that on May 15, 2006 the defendant destroyed the chain at the entrance of Pacific Castle now owned by CDA.

Warfield said Kaipat stole some items at Pacific Castle.

No other details were given in court papers.

A detective earlier told the Superior Court that a patrolling police officer spotted the defendant on board a pickup truck that parked near Pacific Castle in the afternoon of May 15.

When the patrol officer came back, the truck was no longer there. The officer observed that the chain at the entrance of Pacific Castle was damaged.

Later, Kaipat was seen leaving Pacific Castle. Some parts of air-conditioners were found in his truck.

Kaipat has previous convictions. He has numerous pending criminal cases.
