Saipan Walking Association, Inc. has moved its 5th Pan Pacific IVV Saipan Festival-Aqua Walk to sometime next month.

SAIWAI spokesperson and event coordinator Mario Espeleta said the local walking organization moved the staging of the immensely popular and unique event to better organize it.

The 5th Pan Pacific IVV Saipan Festival-Aqua Walk was originally set for this Saturday, June 10.

Espeleta said the postponement will allow SAIWAI to include more gimmicks to the event, which will be enjoyed by both local and off-island participants.

“We are planning to add some unique features besides the walk in the ocean at the back of Townhouse and Aquarius,” said Espeleta.

Like all SAIWAI activities, IVV members received credit for joining the 5th Pan Pacific IVV Saipan Festival-Aqua Walk.

IVV has member walking clubs in the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, Turkey, Nepal, Australia, New Zealand, the CNMI, and 29 other European countries, including Germany.

SAIWAI was incorporated as a non-profit corporation on July 27, 2001 and was established to promote public health through non-competitive walking. (Mark Rabago)
