Some questions for CUC
In reply to the Commonwealth Utilities Corp.’s request for comments concerning their improper attempt to make apparent “illegal” emergency regulations into permanent regulations, I submit the following requests for CUC information:
1. How much is CUC’s total amount of receivables, divided into uncollected past due amounts and undisputed amounts for electricity rates and water rates?
2. How much electricity revenue has CUC collected since July 22, 2006, compared to the same period last year?
3. As reported by CUC in the Pacific Times that it will fully recover its liabilities by Oct. 30, 2006, how much more does CUC need to justify the amendments to make the electricity rate schedule regulations permanent?
4. Since January 2006, what is the shipment by shipment fuel costs from Mobil Oil Co. for the power plants on all islands? How does this appear on a monthly fuel cost graph?
5. How many customers have past due accounts of $500 or more for their utility bills?
6. How much electricity and water bills are uncollected from hotels and garment factories?
7. What is your response to my petition to repeal CUC’s utility rates?
8. What is CUC’s response to my “Notice of CUC Default” concerning my “customer billing dispute”?
I recommend that CUC postpone its hearings until CUC can provide full disclosure to the CNMI public on the aforementioned issues.
