The Detroit Tigers just evened up the 2006 World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals after Kenny Rogers pitched another gem in Game 2 yesterday.

Now that the series shifts to St. Louis for Games 3, 4, and 5, fans of America’s pastime here on Saipan rallied behind their favorite teams and predicted victory for their sides in this Fall Classic.

I’m going to have to go with the Cardinals. They have the best player in baseball right now in Albert Pujols, and I think their ace pitcher Chris Carpenter is going to have a big series and the Cardinals’ bats will come alive.

I’m going for the Tigers only because they’ve come a very long way. Not too long ago they were the worst team in baseball. They just kept losing and to turn it around like the way they did this year, I like that.

I’m not a really big baseball fan, but I think the Cardinals are going to do very well and win. From what I’ve been hearing, the Cardinals have a very good shot.

I’ve got to go with the Cardinals on this one. I think this is going to be their year and I think their hitting is going to just overpower the Tigers.

I’m picking the Tigers to win the World Series because I like the way they’ve turned things around and it would really be good if they can complete the season as champions after being the worst team in baseball.

Detroit all the way! I like both teams but I always like the tigers since they have had bad records and recruited the right people to reach the series. It’s 1-1 but hopefully they can go all the way.

Cardinals. They’ve been my dad’s team since the ’40s. You gotta cheer for the underdog man, since game one. And Kenny Rogers adding a little something extra on the ball—I think they’re going back to their cheating ways.

I don’t know. They both kind of floundered at the end of the season and it looked like they were going to lose out. I like Detroit’s offense and they have a great defense as well. Kenny Rogers looked great out there with pine tar. Maybe they could just tar and feather him next time out.

I haven’t even been following baseball but you know, Detroit hasn’t done anything in a really long time so I think they’re gonna come through. I thought my Padres were gonna do it this year but they lost so I’m going Mo-town. Detroit rock city rocks, baby!

I like Detroit. They’re the underdog. They’re hungry. I like their team. They don’t have any real stars, you know. I was watching the game today and while I’m not much of a baseball fan I like Detroit.
