Continental’s September performance outstanding
Achieving a 100 percent completion factor means that every flight was completed and without a single cancellation. Achieving a perfect day means no delay or cancellations of flights. The Rota and Saipan stations in September had a perfect month with no delays.
Also, for the month of September, Cape Air reported a 97.9-percent arrivals within 14 minutes. The airline ended third quarter 2006 with a 97.4-percent arrivals within 14 minutes statistic and a 99.09 percent segment completion factor.
“Cape Air continues to operate with consistent service leading to a high reliability factor, which is important for customer expectations. Their September performance would have ranked number 1 for on-time arrivals against the August U.S. DOT industry statistics,” said Continental Micronesia Staff Vice President for Sales and Marketing Wally Dias. “The Cape Air team performed extremely well, which is evident in the airline’s performance in September,” he said. The U.S. DOT’s on-time industry statistics are not yet available for September.
Continental Connection operates daily service between Guam and Saipan and three times weekly service to Rota. Cape Air and the Rota Resort and Country Club signed an agreement through March 31, 2007 for continued air service in an effort to provide the Rota Resort and Country Club a viable means of promoting Japanese tourism to the island of Rota. The current agreement will be renewed if there is adequate demand.
Cape Air, the largest independent regional airline in the United States, serves over 650,000 passengers annually with over 120,000 flights in destinations around the world including Micronesia, New England, Florida, and the Caribbean.
