Two teams kept their unblemished records intact on Tuesday night, while a couple climbed back into the playoff chase as the Yellow Division returned to the sand during the 8th Annual Miller Lite Coed Four-Person Volleyball League at the Pacific Islands Club.

We’re All Going Streaking and Pulullun Part II extended their undefeated streaks to four games as they dispatched a pair of talented teams on the San Antonio sand, but the first place Streakers had a difficult time with their foes.

Battered Fish Sticks took the first set from the Streakers, 11-4, with a strong showing at the net but E.J. Lee’s squad was unable to maintain their momentum as We’re All Going Streaking rallied to take the next two, 11-6 and 11-3.

The Streakers lost their first set of the season and still lead the division with 125 points scored and a mere 51 points allowed, while the Battered Fish Sticks maintained their grip on the last playoff spot with a 2-2 record.

The second place Pulullun Part II squad is on a mission for first place and their recent sweep of Dolphins-Not Ashamed brought them a step close to catching the Streakers as they broomed the students under the lights.

Apple Samson, Michael Ray, and Ken Tanzawa provided the offensive punch for the P-Team, while Kimiko Hasegawa and Su Jung Lee pitched in with inspired play to down the students by a combined score of 33-5.

The one-sided victory brought the team closer to first place with their 4-0 record, 118 points for, and 82 against but they still have to face off against their rivals before the end of the season to determine the overall Yellow champion.

The Dolphins fell to 1-3, as did their classmates from Dolphins Blue Shiner, who dropped consecutive sets to third place Fotten Gaga in the first match of the night. Fotten Gaga (2-2) wasted little time in schooling the students with an opening 11-2 win, and they followed with an 11-6 score in the second to clinch the victory before taking the third, 11-3.

For the fourth time in a row, SaipanCell failed to dial up a win at the PIC but James Lee’s digital crew still had a good time despite losing a close contest to the Saipan International School Geckos.

They may be young, but Melisa Halaby and Lena Guzman are gunning to represent the CNMI in next summer’s Pacific Games. They may have had that in mind when they spanked the cell-stars, 11-3, in the opening set.

Things got a little dicey from there as the Geckos and the held off the wireless wonders in the second, 11-7, and again in the third, 11-9. At 2-2, SIS still has a chance at the post season, but they are going to have to rack up some wins in the final three weeks and hope for losses from Battered Fish Sticks and Fotten Gaga.

The action continues tonight as Luther’s Ride (3-0) battles the Kawawang Dolphins (0-3) at 5:30pm, followed by the Eagles of Grace Christian Academy against Taula Peter’s Dingleberries at 6:30pm.

Marianas High School gets representation on the sand in the 7:30pm match when the Dolphins-Just Wanna Have Fun (1-2) try to fill Scott Eck’s first place Kraken (3-0), followed by the finale between Somethin’ Fishy (1-2) and Afternoon Delight (0-3) at 8:30pm.
