The San Antonio Sixers were once again a force to be reckoned with in the Saipan Rotary Club Youth Basketball League, and after another impressive campaign, the team wanted to recognize its sponsor.

Sixers coach Ray Duenas express appreciation to Rep. Cinta Kaipat on behalf of his squad, acknowledging the congresswoman’s assistance in helping the team compete and gain valuable experiences on the court.

“We just want to express our appreciation because without the help of Rep. Cinta Kaipat, we would not be able to compete,” Duenas said.

Duenas also took time to express appreciation to the team supporters, who helped fueled the team with cheers from the sidelines.

The Sixers finished as first runner-up after facing the Garapan Rollers I in a tough finals last Friday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

Led by players such as Bill Babauta, Preston Basa, Ernest Duenas, Frank Blas, and Wong Joo Jung, the Sixers were able to close the regular season tied with the second best record after finishing with an 8-2 card.

The team headed into the playoffs as the No. 3 seed, and was able to beat No. 2 Chalan Kanoa Saints in the semifinals to advance to the finals.
