All set for Rotary’s Las Vegas Night
All is set for this weekend’s Las Vegas Night and the occasion is doubly special as it coincides with Veterans’ Day in the CNMI.
In celebration of the event, the Rotary Club of Saipan will be spreading the prizes to more prospective winners.
Rotary president Deanna Kelly-Tessen earlier told Saipan Tribune that, due in large part to the “tough” economic climate, the group is spreading the cheer by ensuring that there will be more winners during the event.
In past years, organizers had given away brand new cars as the grand prize. This year the grand prize for the event would be $5,000, followed by $3,000 and $2,000 cash prizes.
Kelly-Tessen said there are more prizes to be given away, including three $1,000 and four $500 cash prizes that will be raffled off. Las Vegas Night will be held on Nov. 11 from 7pm to midnight at the Aqua Resort Club.
“This year we will be introducing two new games for the event: the Super Bingo Spectacular, and the Six-Dice roll,” Kelly-Tessen said. The two new games will give lucky winners a chance to take home $50,000 and $25,000 cash prizes.
Kelly-Tessen said the usual Vegas style games would still be played during the night, such as poker, craps, roulette and black jack.
She said hotels have already pledged to give away special door prizes such as overnight stays in hotels with waterpark passes and fancy dinners at the hotels’ most exquisite and luxurious restaurants.
The theme for this year’s event coincides with the celebration of Veterans’ Day. Kelly-Tessen said some of the members of the Rotary will be appearing in military outfits, while some will be in usual casino style suits.
The club has also invited a number of Guam veterans through the Military Welfare Recreations group. Kelly-Tessen said the hotels have already provided special packages for these veterans so that they could participate in this year’s Las Vegas Night.
“The veterans, [soldiers] on active duty, and retired military personnel don’t need to purchase tickets to enter in the event,” she said. They only need to purchase tickets if they want to vie for the cash and door prizes.
Tickets for the Las Vegas Night is still at $5 per ticket or $20 per five tickets.
