The race for the Yellow Division champion will go down to the last game of the season as We’re All Going Streaking and Pulullun Part II continued their winning ways for the six straight contest Thursday night at the Pacific Islands Club.

The San Antonio sand sizzled under the stars as the 8th Annual Miller Lite Coed Four-Person Volleyball League continued to provide excitement as Dale “Dread Pirate” Roberts and We’re All Going Streaking improved to 6-0 by sweeping Dolphins-Not Ashamed.

The students from Marianas High School never stood a chance as the Streakers scored a combined win of 33-3 to maintain their grip on the top spot in the standings. Roberts’ team is the highest scoring in the league with 196 points tallied, and fields a stingy defense that has allowed a measly 69 scores through six games—that’s an impressive average of allowing just over two points per set.

Pulullun Part II was also strong in their win as they took two of three sets from Fotten Gaga to keep pace with the Streakers. The win didn’t come easy as captain Michael “The Aussie” Ray and company escaped with aback-to-back 12-10 wins to clinch the victory before surrendering the third set, 11-4.

We’re All Going Streaking and Pulullun Part Ii will meet for the first time in what may be the most exciting game of the season on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 7:30pm, but each of the squads already assured themselves of a post-season berth.

The Saipan International School students also clinched a playoff slot on Thursday by winning bookend sets against E.J. Lee’s Battered Fish Sticks. Rob Eply’s protégés performed well above average under the lights by opening with an 11-8 win in the first set before dropping the second, 11-6.

With the game, and possibly their season n the line, both teams battled for every point, but the Geckos emerged with the 12-10 win to improve to 4-2. Battered Fish Sticks fell to 3-3 but Lee’s troopers still have the fourth slot in the standings. If they can defeat Saipancell on Nov. 21 they will make the postseason cut as well.

While they play spirited ball, the bumps, sets, and spikes coming from SaipanCell’s side of the court have not gone their way as they maintained their perfect record by losing for the sixth straight time against Dolphins-Blue Shiner.

Their record doesn’t indicate the amount of fun that SaipanCell is having, as the players seem to be having more fun than their opponents despite their 0-6 slate. Their loss on Thursday night came quickly as the students scored a pair of 11-5 scores to clinch the win before following with a one-sided third set that ended 11-2.
