The Marianas Visitors Authority just completed a group of seminars in the Chubu region. The seminars took place from Nov. 7 to 10, 2006, in the cities of Hamamatsu, Yokkaichi, Gifu and Kanazawa.

These seminars targeted travel agents and the media. This was a joint seminar with Northwest Airlines and part of MVA’s marketing plans to strongly promote the Nagoya-Saipan route.

Other participants in the seminar were Pacific Islands Club, Aqua Resort, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Rota Resort, Hotel Nikko Saipan and Sand Castle.

In each city, a 40-minute presentation was provided by MVA, including information about new attractions and renovations in the CNMI. NWA and other vendors provided 10 -15 minute presentations during each seminar.

“City seminars like these where we can bring travel agents together with our industry partners are important to promote tourism to the CNMI,” said MVA managing director Perry Tenorio. “We all know how important Nagoya is to the CNMI and to have additional exposure to promote the CNMI to that market is vital to ensure that our arrival numbers continue to increase.” (PR)
