Acting Governor Joseph M. Mendiola is strongly advising the public, especially beachgoers, fishermen, tourists, swimmers, divers and surfers, to avoid venturing near reefs and exposed beaches as wind and wave conditions support dangerous rip currents.

Rip currents are life threatening to anyone entering the water.

Based on the information received from the National Weather Service, Tiyan, Guam and compiled by the CNMI Emergency Management Office, Office of the Governor, Acting Governor Mendiola is informing the public that northeast and northwest swell generated by gales east of Japan will produce hazardous surf conditions during the next couple of days.

Surf will be hazardous at seven to nine feet along northwest…north and northeast facing reefs through Thursday. (PR)
