Bwibwiis leading 670’s Finest after two sets
The Bwibwiis and 670’s Finest both entered their contest without a win, and by the time the two split today, one will have secured victory No. 1.
The two collided for the first two sets of a four-set regulation bout yesterday, and when time expired, it was the Bwibwiis holding an 11-point edge as the team currently leads their bout, 29-18.
The Bwibwiis got off on the right foot as Darrel Moteisou connected for a goal to get their scoring push started. Moteisou was far from done, and added another goal midway through the set, highlighting a 17-3 scunk victory.
In Rocball, a scunk is when a team beats another and limits the opposition to under eight points.
While the Bwibwiis were hitting away with a bang, the 670’s Finest were cold as the team also suffered from a mishap on first serve as subtracted a point from their corner.
The first set loss was more than enough to wake the 670’s Finest players as the team returned with a fury in the second set. Despite three mishaps on first serve—minus three points—and a xunk by Jimmy Pua that took off another two points from the 670’s Finest score, the team was able to get over the hill.
Joe Pangelinan hit an ace and a kee, Mike Salas had an ace, and Carlos Rivera also busted up a kee to lead the team to a 15-12 victory.
But the huge deficit after the first set was too big to overcome, and despite dropping the second set, the Bwibwiis were still able to maintain a double-digit advantage.
The first two sets of the bout featured six aces, a xunk, two kees, and two goals.
Moteisou currently leads the campaign for heavy hitter with 10 points after bruising the ball for two aces and two goals for the Bwibwiis.
Pangelinan leads the 670′ Finest crew with four points on an ace and a kee.
The bout resumes today at 11:30am.
