The CNMI will be welcoming next week some 50 Japanese visitors who will be shooting a movie project here entitled Memory of the Seashore. The filming will take place on the islands of Saipan and Tinian.

The visitors, which include the shooting crew and the actors and actresses, will be on the islands from Nov. 20 to 29. The crew will shoot at various tourism sites, beaches, Managaha, Garapan, Grotto and Mt. Tapochau.

The movie is a love story about his man who comes to the CNMI with his friends to re-unite with his love

During the shooting, a dinner show featuring Joe Nakayama, and Goro Noguchi, who were each married on Rota several years ago, will take place on Nov. 21, 2006 at the Hotel Nikko Saipan Theater Hall.

The Ms. Saipan contest will also take place. The contest will feature the top three finalists who will compete for the crown. Ten judges will make the selection. These judges are from the CNMI. There will also be 200 guests from Japan here to attend the contest. The top three finalists will have a part in the movie.

Mr. Nagumo, owner of a production company and the recipient of a CNMI tourism ambassador award, was instrumental in making this filming possible.

“We are excited to have continued exposure in Japan,” said MVA managing director Perry Tenorio. “We look forward to hosting the movie crew and to all the festivities that will take place while they are visiting our islands.”

The movie will air in early 2007 in Tokyo, with an estimated viewership of 20 million. (PR)
