Sailors to receive Bronze Star

[B]SANTA RITA, Guam[/B]—The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 5 will hold an awards ceremony today, Dec. 1, at the command on U.S. Naval Base Guam.

During the ceremony, selected service members will be presented Bronze Star Medals, which are awarded to people who distinguished themselves by heroic, meritorious achievement or service in connection with military operations against an armed enemy or opposing armed force. Personnel will also be garnered Navy Commendation Medals with Valor, Army Commendations, and Army Achievement Medals.

The mission of EODMU 5, a forward-deployed mobile command, is to provide explosive ordnance disposal detachments throughout the Commander, Seventh Fleet area of responsibility to enable access for fleet, mine countermeasures, joint expeditionary and special operations forces. [B][I](PR) [/I][/B]
