Tony Guerrero is SGA Ace for December

The Marianas Country Club may not be the best golf course on Saipan, but veteran golfer Tony Guerrero did not complain.

Guerrero advanced to Saipan Golf Asssociation’s Ace of Aces on Dec. 9 and 10 following a superb showing in the greens and fairways of the Marpi golf course last Nov. 26.

Tied at 70 net with Joe Sablan, Guerrero won SGA’s December Ace in the fifth hole with a bogey, besting Sablan’s double bogey. Sablan settled for second place. Constant traveler Max Castro rose to third.

In the closest to the pin competition, Guerrero won hole No. 3, Steve Ballakhrisna took the plum in hole No. 8, Jess Castro was without peer in hole No. 15, and Mel Sablan lorded it over in hole No. 17.

Joe Demapan won the longest drive in hole No. 13, while Jung Eun Taeck did the trick in hole No. 8.
