Donations being accepted for typhoon victims
The Philippine government, through the National Disaster Coordinating Council and Philippine National Red Cross, is now accepting donation for the calamity-stricken country.
The Philippine Consulate General in the CNMI said that President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has declared a state of national calamity in the wake of the devastation wrought by consecutive super typhoons “Milenyo,” “Paeng,” and “Reming.”
NDCC has been tasked to coordinate national and international efforts to respond to this calamity and is accepting donations from the international community.
The Philippine Consulate General said that donations from the CNMI and the international community could be sent to: NDCC Donated Fund Account No. 00149-435-3, Development Bank of the Philippines, Camp Aguinaldo Branch, Quezon City.
Donors can contact Rufina Pacual or Joan Buenas at (632) 525-5654.
Donors are also advised to be specific whether the purpose of the donation is for emergency relief or rehabilitation.

The Consulate is asking the Filipino community to send their donations directly to the NDCC or PNRC at the aforementioned accounts.
