SBS TV has just completed their film shoot on Saipan and Rota. They were filming from Dec. 7 to 12, 2006.

Earlier, SBS producers were on the islands for a location-hunting excursion. The focus will be to introduce Saipan and Rota promoting healing, beauty, diving, and culture. The title of the program is “Healing Island Resort – Journey to Rota and Saipan.” The program will air in February 2007 with a viewership of more than 1.3 million. This feature brings an estimated exposure value of $363,636.

Rota Mayor Joseph Inos extended much support to the producers when they held a meeting in late November. Inos is ecstatic and looks forward to the success of this coverage. Other partners for this media tour include Rota Resort & Country Club, Sirena Marine Service, Luta Gallery, Chamorro Nation Assn., Joe & Son’s Store, Rota residents, Mariana Resort & Spa, Marianas Trekking, Hyatt Regency Saipan, and Micronesia Woodcraft Ent. Inc.

“Having more coverage from Japan ensures that we continue to be in the minds of Japanese consumers when making their travel plans,” said MVA managing director Perry Tenorio. “We will continue to approach media to secure such coverage for all of our islands as we are tasked with bringing in 1 million visitors by 2010. Joint programs such as these bring us closer to meeting this goal.” (PR)
