The NMI Crime Stoppers Program will hold its 5th Annual Softball Tournament by next month at the Susupe Tan Ge’s softball field.

Crime Stoppers coordinator Sgt. Thomas A. Blas Jr. said Tuesday that they are expecting 14 teams to sign up for the Jan. 26 to 28 tournament.

Blas said just like the previous tournaments, teams will all be competing for the championship trophy, championship team member medallion, perpetual trophy, and other additional championship team prizes.

Blas said second to fourth place winning teams will also receive a trophy and prizes.

“Raffle tickets are being sold now for a $1 a piece for a chance to win many other prizes. Need not be present to win and drawing will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at the Susupe Tan Ge’s softball field,” he said.

The coordinator said other exciting events include “Throwing Accuracy” and “Base Running” for all kids and adults.

Prizes and trophies will be given to the best players in this event, Blas said.

He said interested players and teams can contact him at 285-0101, Jerry Ayuyu at 287-2007, Jim Arenovski at 287-7037, or Jim Ripple at 235-2302.
