Free GCA arts workshop on Christmas break

The Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture and National Endowment for the Arts, with the help of Youth On The Rock of Grace Christian Ministries, will be conducting an art workshop called “Art IsCool” for 12- to 18-year-old youth this Christmas break.

Art IsCool, which will be conducted by Benjie “Mang Ben” Ganapin, will be held on Dec. 20-22 and 27-29, from 9am to 11am. The workshop venue will be announced at a later date.

Registration is free but the participants are limited to 20 youth only. Interested youth need to submit any artwork (drawing, painting, sketch, etc.) to Ganapin at Grace Christian Academy, with name and contact number written on the back. Deadline is on Dec. 17, 2006, 12 noon. From all the entries, 20 will be chosen for the free program.

The program aims to help the youth enhance their skill. All artwork during the program will be displayed at the Arts Council Gallery. Ganapin is seeking kids with potentials who could join him in the Flame Tree Arts Festival next year.
