GUAM—The religious community is invited to attend the 39th anniversary celebration of the Iglesia ni Cristo (Church of Christ) on March 28 at the Dededo Sports Complex Gym, at 8pm.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo started to hold worship services on this island in 1960 when Guam was still undergoing rehabilitation and at its early stage of development. The Church was officially registered with the Government of Guam on March 17, 1969. The services were first held in a rented Quonset in Tamuning and the initial group consisted of 50 members.

The present house of worship in Harmon, an elegant $2.1 million edifice with a 600-seating capacity, was dedicated on March 19, 1994. This is now the spiritual house for the more than a thousand worshippers on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

In commemorating these momentous events, the locales of Harmon and Apra Heights will combine their efforts to host a Grand Evangelical Mission with Musical Presentation.

Minister Levie Galapon Jr. of Apra Heights will discuss the biblical reason why the Church believes in the imminent return of Jesus Christ. He will be citing verses in the Bible that highlight the signs of His Second Coming. He shall also point out the events that will transpire in this world during the day that Christ comes.

Minister Jose Ventilacion of Harmon will discuss the proper preparation that should be done by everyone in order to be worthy of meeting the Lord on that glorious day. He will emphasize the things needed to be done by someone who is interested to receive the salvation promised by the Savior himself.

After the biblical presentation, choir groups from Harmon shall render spiritual songs that shall inspire everyone to ponder on God’s bountiful blessings to His Church here in Guam.

Worship services are open to members and non-members alike. For further inquiries, call 637-5538 or email us at: hufellow@gmail.com, (PR)
