Inside-the-park home runs by Thomas Reyes and Craig Aguon highlighted the Bank of Saipan Red Sox’s 18-3 win over the Tan Holdings Athletics in their Saipan Little League game last Wednesday at the Miguel Basa “Tan Ge” Pangelinan Field.

Reyes homered twice in the game, blasting back-to-back inside-the-park round-trippers to lead the Red Sox’s 13-for-22 batting. He went 2-for-3 scoring two runs with three RBIs.

Reyes had a solo shot in the first inning then a two-RBI four-bagger in the Red Sox’s eight-run second inning barrage. Aguon, who went 1-for-2, also had a two-RBI inside-the-park homer in the same inning.

All three home runs came against Athletics starter Jacob Tomokane, who lasted two innings in the game shortened by the 10-run mercy rule. He was tagged with 11 earned runs on eight hits with a strikeout and seven walks.

Tiana Osada joined the hit parade for the Red Sox going 2-for-3 with two runs and a triple. She had an RBI-triple in a five-run first, an RBI-single in their eight-run rampage, and an RBI-single in a three-run fourth inning rally.
