Beach Road’s 2nd car rally gathering steam
Beach Road Magazine’s Second Annual Car Rally gathers steam as regular radio and TV announcements hit The KAT, Power 99, and KSPN2.
“We are getting more excited by the day as we continue getting inquiries from interested parties. Surely, this event is something to be part of. It’s an adventure of a lifetime,” Susan Marchitti, Beach Road Magazine account manager and lead coordinator for the event, said.
Exciting prizes await participants just for making it through the course. Cash prizes will be given to the top three winners. First prize winner will get $250; second prize, $200; and third, $150, Marchitti said.
Registration is $15 and space is limited to 60 cars.
Currently being finalized on the drawing board is the car rally route, which promises to be even more challenging than last year’s, Marchitti said. “We’d like to make it better than last year’s route,” she said. Details about the route will be made available to participants on car rally day, which is May 24.
A popular motoring event in the United States and Europe, a car rally is not a speeding contest. It’s a cross between a scavenger hunt and an IQ test behind the wheel that’s guaranteed to take your driving skills to the next level.
Announcements about the car rally can be heard over The KAT and Power ‘99 five times a day starting May 4; and seen on KSPN 2 News and Sportswrappers, both on KSPN 2.
The Second Annual Beach Road Magazine Car Rally is a competitive motoring event in which drivers must successfully complete a given course by following a set of instructions. The starting point will be announced. Drivers will receive a new set of instructions at each checkpoint, which will guide them through the next section of the rally up to the finish.
Winners will be announced at the Oleai Beach Bar & Grill in the evening of May 25. A special 10 percent discount on non-special food items will be given to car rally participants.
