MVA, JSTA, KTAS join hands in Garapan cleanup
The Marianas Visitors Authority, along with its tourism industry partners Japan Travel Association, Korean Tour Association of Saipan and MVA members participated in the Tourism Industry Trash Cleanup held April 29, 2008.
Over 170 members, travel partners and volunteers came out to American Memorial Park at 7:30am, volunteering their time by helping out in the cleanup. The groups were divided into segments in the Garapan Tourist District (Paseo de Marianas) sweeping the entire area for trash. From there the cleanup then headed down toward the roadside in front of ABC store cleared it and into the Carolinan Utt where they diverted to the beachfront side area and picked up more trash. The cleanup ended at the American Memorial Park (pavilion).
The entire group collected over 600 lbs of trash, debris, bottles and other trash items. The MVA is very grateful for the people who came out and helped out during the trash cleanup. The Tourism Industry Trash Cleanup was part of the MVA’s Tourism Month event supporting the beautification efforts in preparation for the golden week and for our tourist. [B][I](MVA)[/I][/B]
