Airman dies in Guam motorcycle accident
ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam—An active duty airman assigned to the 554th Red Horse Squadron, 36th Wing Contingency Response Group, was killed in a motorcycle accident last Friday. Staff Sgt. David L. Coplin, 35, of Mississippi, is survived by his wife Delora A. Coplin and son, David L. Coplin, Jr.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
“It is the worst kind of tragedy when we lose a member of our Air Force family,” said Brig. Gen. Douglas Cox, 36th Wing commander. “Our thoughts and prayers will remain with the families during this process. We ask that the privacy of the families are respected as we grieve. Our top priority is ensuring the welfare of the families and friends affected by this tragedy.”
The Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operations Repair Squadron Engineers are trained to be self-sustaining and build and open bases in the most austere environments. The 554th Red Horse Squadron is the oldest Red Horse squadron in the Air Force.
