Ayuyu wants more to join Rotary Club

The Rotary Club of Saipan is revving up its membership drive, with club president Marcia Ayuyu outlining this goal to get more members part of her priorities.

The club currently has 39 members. Three previous members have moved off-island due to work-related assignments.

Ayuyu said it has always been a challenge to bring in new members, as well as attract former members to rejoin the club.

She said she has been hard at work to draw in new members from the many businesses throughout the islands. “I am really hoping that the Rotarians help me [by] working hard to bring [in new] members,” Ayuyu said.

She assured that all members will be connected in serving the community as part of the club’s mission.

As one of her projects, Ayuyu plans to add a Rotary Club plaque by the Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport to let people and incoming tourists know of the club’s presence on the island.

She said the club has already started planning for their annual fundraising event, the 2019 Las Vegas Night. She said the tentative date for the event is this November and she will be talking with the club’s board of directors about the event’s details.
