During Eucon International School’s 2007-2008 graduation ceremony held at the school’s newly built Agape Auditorium, Gov. Benigno R. Fitial recognized the school’s strength and growth that happened all within just a couple of years.

“Two years ago, you did not have this auditorium you now enjoy. This is a very positive development and one that shows the strength and growth of your school in just a couple of years,” the governor addressed the school during the ceremony held last May 3.

“I’m happy to be here and to join you in your new auditorium—a very nice facility that demonstrates your college’s terrific progress and success over the years.”

Fitial cited a couple of the obstacles and challenges that the school went through in order to succeed.

He said that not only did Eucon International College had to deal with local regulatory and accreditation requirements, it also had to secure formal accreditation from the Transnational Association of Christina Colleges and School, which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

According to Fitial, Eucon International School had been successful in overcoming those obstacles, “thanks to the efforts of Dr. [Christian] Wei and your entire school. You should be proud of how this college has come in such a relatively short period of time.”

Dr. Wei, the president of the college, also delivered his message that was based on I Timothy 4:12. The sermon was meant to provide encouragement to the school’s graduates and ask them to become examples to believers “in word, conversation, charity, spirit, faith, and purity.”

“Eucon’s goal is training students to be like Christ and will be good examples to others,” Wei said. “We commit all our efforts to help the CNMI change its image so that we can send out a good and wonderful image throughout the world.”

Eucon International College graduated four students last Saturday—Christian Wei Jr., who received the academic award; Feng Mei Li, who was named the college loyalty awardee; Rebecca Lal Lian Pari, who received her bachelor’s degree in education; and Wing Lok Leung, who completed his bachelor of arts in pastoral studies.

Eucon is the first private college in the CNMI to obtain its accreditation from the U.S. Department of Education.
