Red Cross lessons resume on June 14
Tsunami Swimming Center Saipan will once again offer American Red Cross swimming lessons beginning next month at the Fiesta Resort and Spa Saipan south pool.
According to the year-old swim club, the lessons will be held beginning June 14 and through the succeeding Saturdays of the month plus the first Saturday of the next month, July 5, at the Garapan landmark.
All lessons will be from 10am to 11am.
According to the club’s head coach, Hiro Kimura, swimmers and coaches of Tsunami Saipan will conduct the American Red Cross swim lessons.
Registration will be held at the Fiesta Resort south pool area from 9:15am to 9:45am on June 14. Enrollment is limited to 55 participants and children must be at least five years old. Tsunami Saipan is reminding parents not to register their toddlers.
Cost to participate is $25 with the succeeding participant from the same family charged $20 each. American Red Cross certificates will be issued after the conclusion of the monthlong swimming lessons.
Last month, Tsunami Saipan held its first American Red Cross swim lessons of the year with 69 participants “graduating” and awarded their “certifications.”
Club president Stan Good said the swim lessons are an important step in improving the water safety awareness of people on Saipan.
