Lizama tops GTC’s graduating class

The Gregorio T. Camacho Elemen tary School graduated 33 of its sixth graders during its 6th Grade Promotional Ceremony held at the school’s campus Thursday.

The event, which took place for an hour at the school’s campus, was held to recognize the sixth grade students for completing the first of many miles in their educational journey.

This year’s GTC Elementary School Commissioner’s Award went to Ezra Justice Dirking Lizama. The Commissioner’s Award is the most prestigious award given to the student with the highest grade point average from grades fourth to sixth.

“I would like to thank my teacher, Ms. Jenny, for always pushing me to do my best and for guiding me when I faltered. I feel that my self-confidence and my understanding of the connection between learning and real-life have grown,” Lizama said in a speech.

He also received the leadership award and the presidential award for academic achievement in Reading, Language Arts & Writing, Social Studies, and Science.

This year’s recipient of the Principal’s Award was Jace Allyson T. Pineda, who garnered the second highest grade point average in the school.

Pineda said this school year she has grown in both confidence and the way she is as a person.

“I have become more confident in sharing my thoughts on issues that concern me. As a person, I think I grew by being less worried about what others think about me and more confident in being myself,” Pineda said.

Pineda also received the leadership award and the presidential award for academic achievement in Reading, Language Arts & Writing, Math, Social Studies, and Chamorro Carolinian Language Heritage Studies.

Other students were also recognized for their hard work and citizenship throughout the school year.

The citizenship award was given to Pineda, Randy Patrick B. Camacho, Elaine P. Ermitanio, Lorenza Casugay Guiao, and Veora Jaylene Basa.

Basa was also the recipient of the leadership award and the presidential award for academic achievement in Sportsmanship and Chamorro Carolinian Language Heritage Studies.

Andrea Mae. S. Sablan was also a recipient of the presidential award for academic acievement in Sportsmanship.

Perfect attendance awards went to Crecensia N. Castro, Shaira C. Sally, Elaine P. Ermitanio, Vanessa R. Sally, Tenta S. Ordonez, Lorenza C. Guiao, and Shawn O. Camacho.

Other recipients of this year’s leadership award were Randy B. Camacho, Tasha Eve C. Agulto, and Josiah Orlando.
