RGA June Ace tomorrow
The Refaluwasch Golf Association will hold its June Ace of the Month Tournament tomorrow, June 8, at the Coral Ocean Point Golf Resort.
Tournament director Jess Wabol said check-in time for the event is 11am with tee off set an hour later at 12pm. As many as 16 players can play in the weekend golf game.
Score to beat in the June Ace is Jordan Kossam’s net score of 64 that he fired during the June Ace of the Month qualifier held last May 25 at the Koblerville golf course.
Kossam beat 13 other aspirants for the qualifying top score after going 44 in the front nine and 39 in the back for a gross score of 83, which minus his 19 handicap, gave him the score to beat in tomorrow’s monthly competition.
Louie Tilipao finished second with his net 66 (80 gross, 38-42, 14 handicap), while third place went to Bae Young Man with his net 67 (69, 37-32, two).
The rest of the field that played last May 25, with their net scores in parenthesis, were as follows: Joe Lizama (72), Tars Olopai (72), Ed Tenorio (73), Jess I. Wabol (73), Joe Wabol (75), Asterio Tawanpiy (76), Joe Mafnas (78), Adam Hardwicke (78), Ullyses Kapileo (81), and Michael Stewart (82).
In related news, RGA reminded the public that that the club has halved its membership dues for 2008 from the long-standing fee of $50 to only $25.
This happened after RGA recognized the hard economic times and decided to give its members and future members a break by slashing the cost of becoming part of RGA.
The club hopes that by making membership in RGA a little lighter in the pocket, more weekend warriors will now return to the golf links and renew their membership or apply as new members of the golf club.
