Kagman High School electronics teacher Benjie Ladringan recently helped his students build electronic devices as part of class project assignments.

The class of 40 students—two girls and 38 boys—learned how to handle auto electrical work and cable installations, among other basic electronic applications.

“They were fast learners, bright, and they can be a big asset to companies,” said Ladringan.

He said the course helped prepare the students for work in several areas. They learned how to develop technical skills that would be important for future employment.

“Electronics are important nowadays, because almost everything we use is electronic,” said Ladringan, who has been teaching for 15 years. This was the first time the school offered him a chance to teach an electronic course.

He thinks that electronics should be a part of the basic curriculum in schools and expressed a wish to teach more with things like digital electronics, television, and radio frequencies.
