Tenorio wins ladies tournament for June

Margaret Tenorio won the CNMI Women’s Golf Association June Ace of the Month Tournament after firing a net score of 70 last Saturday at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort west course.

Tenorio won the sixth monthly tournament of CWGA after her gross score of 101 was sliced by her 31 USGA handicap. She shot a 51 in the front nine before improving by a stroke in the back with a 50.

Chang Eun Ae finished runner-up for June with her 71 net on the strength of her 24 handicap following a gross score of 95 (47-48).

Yang Kyung A came in third after firing a 72 net. The 23-handicapper shot a 52-43 in the front and back for a gross score of 95.

Shiori Onoue and Bobbie Guerrero complete the Top 5 with identical net scores of 73. Onoue fired her’s after a gross of 80 (41-39), while Guerrero managed a one-over net score after recording a pre-handicap score of 88 (47-41).

Shirlyn Jones (net 74), Ching Lin Wang (75), Ham Young Mi (75), Lou Kim (76), Park Kim Yang (77), Aya Matsumoto (77), Terry Tudela (78), Kimiko Abe (78), Noriko Togawa (80), ok Soon Kim (82), Sadiko Adachi (83), Yuko Togawa (85), Lorraine Babauta (85), Bennet Seman (89), and Doll Yamagishi (93) also took part in the June Ace for CWGA.

Established in March 2007, CWGA is a nonprofit organization founded to promote, encourage, and introduce women to the sport of golf in the CNMI.

The organization intends to accomplish the following: 1. Promote civic and community interest in golf; 2. Establish and encourage competition and good sportsmanship; 3. Promote and provide social functions of the members and their families; 4. Promote youth golf activities; and 5. To do any or all things necessary and proper to accomplish its purpose and intention.

CWGA also commits its members to abide by a set of values that will further enrich a golfer’s performance, attitude, and conduct-adopted form the USA Junior Golf Association.

The set of values members of CWGA are committed to faithfully are as follows: perseverance; sportsmanship; respect; honesty; judgment; responsibility; reliance; courtesy; and sincerity.
