Interior unveils web business tool
A new Web site designed by the Department of the Interior could provide new opportunities for businesses in the Commonwealth by connecting them to potential partners.
In a statement issued June 20, DOI’s Office of Insular Affairs, which oversees a host of federal government matters in the Commonwealth, said the new site, Island Business Link (islandbusinesslink.com), can “facilitate the matching of island businesses with businesses anywhere in the world.”
Island business link is designed from a model DOI has previously used for business-to-business meetings. The system gives island business owners the chance to post opportunities and ideas for others to read. Local entrepreneurs and the government can also take advantage of it, according to the Web site.

Meanwhile, DOI’s 2008 Island Fellow to the Commonwealth, Debbie Wissel is on Saipan until July 3. Wissel, a candidate for an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, has served previously as the manager for an investment research and advisory firm in New York.
