Six Saipan-based OFWs hurdle computer tech licensure exam
Six overseas Filipino workers who passed the licensure exam for computer service technicians last April 26, 2008 were awarded certificates by the Electronics Technician Association International through the company CNMI representative and on island certified test administrator Mar Masilungan.
The newly certified technicians are Jovenal Bonafe, Cynthia Gugulan, Johannes Obligacion, Ana Marie Ocon, Hermelina Tanghal, and Olivia Yana.
In coordination with the Philippine Consulate General, through the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, the awarding ceremony was held in conjunction with the graduation of the Building and Fixing Computers Class Batch 6 on June 28, 2008 at the Claret Restaurant, Fiesta Resort and Spa.
Consul General Wilfredo DL. Maximo handed the certificates to both the graduates and the license exam passers.
He was assisted by Consul Belinda M. Ante, Labor Representative Joan Lourdes D. Lavilla, Welfare Officer Leonor C. Mabagal, and Masilungan.
Masilungan himself is the BFC class instructor and founder of the Saipan Building and Fixing Computers Users Group.
Maximo congratulated the new computer service technicians and graduates and enjoined them to use their skills to achieve a better life.
Masilungan posed a challenge to the graduates and the newly certified technicians to practice and use their license in a very professional and efficient manner. (PR)
