Protecting tourists

My cousin, who is visiting from Manila, my daughter and another friend went to the Street Market last Tuesday. They were watching the cultural show when my cousin noticed a bulky guy who was standing near them trying to pick the pocket of a Japanese woman. When he saw the man looked at him, seemingly telling him not to say anything, he got scared and left the place as fast as he could.

That night when he was telling us what he saw, I told him that he should have reported it to the police station near the area. He’s a visitor and didn’t know what to do.

I’m writing to ask the DPS commissioner to deploy enough police officers to the street market to protect the tourists. This is not the first time I’ve heard of reports of pickpockets being spotted in the street market. We don’t want these tourists to leave with sad stories to tell back home.
