10 bands competing in Saipan Summer Jam
The slate is complete. Ten bands will soon compete in the biggest gig of the year—Beach Road Magazine’s Saipan Summer Jam on Aug. 24 from 4pm to 9pm at Saipan Grand Hotel’s Club V.
“We were still getting phone inquiries but we had to stop at 10 to make the event more organized. We have one band on the waiting list,” Susan Marchitti, Beach Road Magazine account manager said.
The bands joining the Saipan Summer Jam are Project X, Frozen Nipple, Rated R, Fritada, Past & Present, J2, D is for Dangerous, High Pitch, Channel B and Burning Bush.
Admission is $5 and includes a drink. Tickets are available at the Beach Road Magazine office located on the second floor of the Transpac Business Center on Middle Road in Gualo Rai. Tickets will also be available at Club V on the day of the event.
“Five dollars to see 10 bands perform is a fair deal,” Marchitti said.
Text voting, which comprises 20% of the total score for each band, opened at 8am on August 1 and will close at 8pm on August 24, Marchitti said.
To vote for your choice, simply text the band’s name and send it to their corresponding four-digit numeric text code using your PTI mobile. A profile of each of the bands and their numeric text codes are in the August edition of Beach Road Magazine. PTI will charge 10 cents per text vote to all subscribers regardless of plan.
Cash prizes await the winners who will also get a chance to perform at Palms Resort Saipan’s “Back-to-School Summer Bash” on Aug. 30. [B][I](PR)
