Game 3 of Ford Rangers’ and Tanapag Falcons’ best-of-three semifinals in the 2008 Budweiser Saipan Major League was postponed for the second time in a week after a power interruption once again hit the Francisco M. Palacios Baseball Field Friday night.

According to SML commissioner Tony Rogolifoi, the continuation of the final game between the Rangers and Falcons was played until the third inning when the power went out again with the score pegged at 10-3, in favor of the Rangers.

The game was originally played last Tuesday with Rangers getting the jump against the Falcons, leading 8-1 in the bottom of the first with the Joeten Motors Corp.-sponsored team in the offensive and with still one out remaining.

Fast forward to Friday’s continued-then-postponed game, B.J. Sablan hit a towering homerun over left field in the second inning to score the Falcons’ third run and the Rangers added two unearned runs to make it a seven-run ballgame.

Rogolifoi said the finale of the Rangers’ and Falcons’ race-to-two wins series is scheduled for tomorrow, Aug. 5, at the Oleai Sports Center.

Game 2 of the other semifinals between unbeaten and pennant champions Rock Steady and last playoff qualifier San Roque D-9ers, meanwhile, will be played tonight.

Rogolifoi also reminded 2008 BSML coaches and managers to attend a brief meeting today following the scheduled 12pm meeting of the 2008 SML Fall League at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium conference room.

The NMASA Hall of Famer explained that the meeting will determine who will be this season’s Rookie of the Year, Best Catcher, Best Pitcher, Coach of the Year, Manager of the Year, Sportsmanship Awardee, and most valuable player.
