Govt/biz caging releases new sked
The Inaugural PTI Inter-Government Business Basketball League will be operating on a new schedule starting next week after intermittent power interruption wrought havoc on its old one.
Coordinator Joey Dela Cruz said the roundball competition pitting teams from government agencies and two “guest” squads from the private sector will resume after a two-week hiatus this Monday, Aug. 11, when PTI takes on Department of Community and Cultural Affairs in the 6:30pm opener.
It will be followed by the 8pm nightcap between winless Department of Public Safety and Department of Public Works/Procurement and Supply.
And with extending the league into September out of the question, Dela Cruz has opted to make the league daily so another twin-bill is set on Tuesday in the 2008 PTI Inter-Government Business Basketball League.
The Aug. 12 games will have Legislature squaring off against Commonwealth Ports Authority in the first game, which would be followed immediately by the second game pitting Aguaguat against DPS.
Aguaguat will have less than 24 hours to recover from their game against DPS when it squares off against Bank of Guam Express in Aug. 13’s first game. It will then be followed by the match between Tinian and Department of Corrections. Aug. 14 will then have the lone match between Autonomous and DOC.
The final playdate of the first week of the revised schedule on Aug. 15 will then feature Autonomous against CPA in the opener and Northern Marianas College against PTI.
Week 2 of the restart schedule will then have DOC-CPA (first game) and PTI-DPW/P&S (second game) on Monday, DCCA-DPW/P&S on Tuesday, Autonomous-Aguaguat and NMC-CPA on Wednesday, DCCA-DPS on Thursday, and Autonomous-DPW/P&S and NMC-DPS on Friday.
The Aug. 25 doubleheader will then have CPA-DPS and Aguaguat-PTI, followed by DCCA-DOC lone game on Aug. 26. Wednesday, Aug. 27, will see a return to a two-game format with Tinian-Aguaguat and Autonomous-NMC locking horns. The final game of the regular reason will be on Aug. 28 when DCCA takes on Legislature.
Dela Cruz has also made available the Aug. 29 schedule for make-up games.
