Japan’s Asahi Broadcasting Company recently visited Saipan to film a comedy titled “Ikemen Five” (The Five Handsome Men). The program is often filmed overseas to feature different aspects of local culture and food.

While on Saipan, the cast and crew played golf, visited beaches and toured Garapan. The program will air on Sept. 28. A crew of 20 accompanied them.

Asahi Broadcasting airs in 587,655 households in Japan. The exposure value of the recent filming is $1,833,333.

Fiesta Resort & Spa, Coral Ocean Point, Sea Venture, 2008 Miss Marianas Teen Ariel St. Claire, Team Atuwasi Soft Ball team, Team Tasi for the dancers, Joeten and HIS all participated in and contributed to the endeavor.

“We would like to thank Asahi Broadcasting for choosing Saipan as its featured destination,” said Marianas Visitors Authority managing director Perry Tenorio. “As our Japan arrivals continue to rise, having constant exposure in Japan will be vital to the success of our tourism industry.” [B][I](MVA)
